A New Look
After a year on the road I decided to ditch the springer for a wide glide front end. I searched around for a few weeks looking for parts to convert an 8-over disc brake fork I have to a drum but finally decided to bite the bullet and pay top dollar for a very complete unmolested 55-59 Panhead Hydra Glide front end I found on CL about 2 hours from Milwaukee. I made the trip up on a Sunday to pick it up and spent the next two days tearing down, cleaning up and installing new fork seals. Then it took a few more days to locate a 7/16 hex wrench so I could bolt the drum to hub! I like how it turned out. I think I'll complete the stock look with a Glide front fender. Also thinking about a stock rigid rear fender to balance out the back of the bike, which is starting to look a little emaciated with the fat bob tanks and wide glide.

Almost Finished!
Picked up an old chrome Unity fog lamp at a swap meet today and changed out the one I cobbled together from an FX bucket. I think it looks much better. The last thing to do is figure out a license plate and tail light mount. Once the fabrication and assembly phase of the build is complete, I have to take it all back apart to paint, powdercoat and detail.

Fender Mount
I cut the fender struts just a little short, so there is a good chance I will have to remake them after a test ride. To make matters worse, my welder went berserk and started splattering all over the place right when I tried to final weld the bungs to the struts, so I will probably do them again anyway, but at least the fender is on the bike.
